In the Global Quality Infrastructure Index (GQII) report announced by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), Türkiye rises 7 ranks in the field of accreditation and placed to 10th compared to the previous year.
In the general ranking in which all of the metrology, standardization and accreditation areas were evaluated, Türkiye ranked 16th in the world.
The report, which includes a special evaluation of Türkiye’s success, included the note that Türkiye and Switzerland which rose 5 ranks in the general quality infrastructure index, recorded the biggest rise among the top 25 countries. In the report, it was stated that France, Germany, China, Montenegro, Estonia, and Türkiye were among the 6 countries that showed a rise contrary to the decline in the overall scoring of the quality infrastructure of other countries.
In the Global Quality Infrastructure Index, which analyzes 184 countries data for quality infrastructure and is a leading report in measuring the development status and dynamics of quality infrastructure worldwide, the rise of Türkiye in the field of accreditation came to the fore.
TÜRKAK Secretary General Banu Müderrisoğlu stated that she had great satisfaction and proud of this result in the field of accreditation, which is one of the most important building blocks of quality infrastructure in Türkiye.
Müderrisoğlu stated that they have followed a management approach based on law and international standards, transparent, accountable, ethical principles and equal treatment to all parties in all processes since she took office, and that they aim to increase the quality of service offered within this framework.
Emphasizing that institutional structure and all business processes are redesigned with this understanding, Müderrisoğlu underlined that the result of this conception is the most important indicator of this transformation.
Müderrisoğlu said "In line with the goal of raising Türkiye among the world's top 10 economies of President (Recep Tayyip Erdoğan), TÜRKAK, which increases its performance on issues within the field of duty, operates as the affiliated organization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.".
Secratary General underlined that the international confidence and recognition of these services increased with this success achieved with the close support of Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
Müderrisoğlu said that TÜRKAK has an important role and contribution to reduce technical obstacles in front of Türkiye’s foreign trade, in the process of integration with the EU and in increasing the competitiveness of the Turkish economy.
About the Global Quality Infrastructure Index Report
In the Global Quality Infrastructure Index 2021 report, an evaluation was made in the field of accreditation based on the data published by 107 accreditation body.
While 90 of the 107 accreditation bodies directly transmitted its data to the global quality infrastructure index team, the data obtained was confirmed through digital platforms.
In the evaluation of accreditation, the regional and international MLA and MRA agreements of the countries were considered within the scope of IAF MLA and ILAC MRA as well as the number of accredited CABs.
The Global Quality Infrastructure Index Report was first published in 2021 to include 2020 results.
