The TÜRKAK Advisory Board Meeting was held on November 4, on the occasion of the institution’s 26th anniversary.
In his opening speech, TÜRKAK Chairman of the Board, Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, drew attention to the critical role accreditation plays in Turkey’s international trade and especially in its relations with the European Union. Bozay stated: "Everyone wants to maintain their position and established connections while also aiming to expand outward. This is only possible by continuously improving quality." He concluded his remarks by saying, “Exports are not limited to the European Union alone; we also have strong relations with other Turkic and Asian countries. In the coming period, we aim to further expand cooperation in these areas.”
In her speech at the meeting, TÜRKAK Secretary General Banu Müderrisoğlu conveyed the message: "As TÜRKAK, we have completed one year with the vision of the Century of Turkey and the determination to always do better. We have taken important steps both nationally and internationally." Evaluating the institution's transformation process in digitalization, artificial intelligence, and new service areas, Müderrisoğlu explained that the first accreditation period was reduced to 5 months thanks to the ASİST Service Portal, and that the ongoing efforts have positioned TÜRKAK as a model, receiving great appreciation.
TÜRKAK Secretary General Banu Müderrisoğlu noted that in the last 6 years, TÜRKAK has begun providing services in 12 new areas ranging from aviation to biobanking, artificial intelligence to carbon and water footprint verification. She also shared information that corporate artificial intelligence applications are being actively integrated into many processes, from auditor selection to planning, and concluded her speech by emphasizing TÜRKAK's future vision.
In her presentation, TÜRKAK Deputy Secretary General Ayşe Yalova Gökçe shared in detail with the participants the strengthening of TÜRKAK's technical capacity, digitalization processes, international collaborations, and new service areas. Touching on TÜRKAK's balanced assignment policy in her presentation, Gökçe stated that 243 accreditation applications were received in the last year, with accreditation granted to 119 organizations.
The meeting, attended by 43 representatives, concluded with a Q&A session. Secretary General Banu Müderrisoğlu ended the meeting by stating that they are always ready for direct communication with Ministry representatives and UDK representatives, and that mutual communication and collaboration need to be developed.
