Strong Emphasis on Zero Waste by the OECD – TÜRKAK Secretary General Müderrisoğlu Attended the Exhibition

Digital exhibition held at the OECD headquarters

On the occasion of International Zero Waste Day (30 March), TÜRKAK Secretary General Banu Müderrisoğlu participated in a digital exhibition organized by Turkey’s Permanent Delegation to the OECD. The exhibition took place at the OECD Headquarters between 26 March and 4 April. The opening ceremony featured speeches by Ambassador Esen Altuğ, Turkey’s Permanent Representative to the OECD, and Jo Tyndall, OECD Director of Environment.

“Zero Waste in Fashion and Textiles” Took the Spotlight

The exhibition aimed to highlight Türkiye’s contribution to the global circular economy and raise awareness about effective waste management. This year’s theme, “Zero Waste in Fashion and Textiles,” focused on promoting sustainable production and consumption habits.

TÜRKAK’s “Zero Paper” Initiative Draws International Attention

TÜRKAK not only takes part in zero waste initiatives but also draws international attention through its own sustainability efforts. The institution’s “Zero Paper” initiative, which aims to minimize paper use through digitalization, has attracted interest from other EA member countries.

A Globally Supported Zero Waste Project

The event also stands out as part of the global efforts to expand the “Zero Waste Project,” which was initiated through a memorandum signed in 2022 between Emine Erdoğan and UN Secretary-General António Guterres. Such initiatives, which promote environmental sustainability and international cooperation, play a significant role in strengthening global awareness and commitment to zero waste.
