Signing ceremony was held between TÜRKAK and AzAK

A signature ceremony was held between the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK) and the Azerbaijan Accreditation Agency (AzAK), which requested consultancy and training services within the scope of improving accreditation activities and ensuring international recognition (MLA/MRA).

TÜRKAK Secretary General Banu Müderrisoğlu, AzAK Acting Manager Emin Zeynalov and TURKAK – AzAK delegates participated in the signing ceremony of the project, which is expected to take approximately 20 months (289 person-day) in order to improve the accreditation infrastructure of AzAK.

TÜRKAK Secretary General Banu Müderrisoğlu gave point that they enjoyed working with AzAK by emphasizing the fraternal relationship between Azerbaijan and Turkey at the signing ceremony. Emphasizing that they entered into a long-term and very detailed joint work with the project, Müderrisoğlu said that she fully believed that the project would be very successful.

The objectives to be achieved within the scope of the project, which is organized to contribute to the development of a sound and sustainable national accreditation system that supports the safety and quality of Azerbaijani products, are as follows:

  • Improving the competence of human resources of Azerbaijan Accreditation Center (AzAK) including external assessors and experts to be used in accreditation schemes based upon ISO/IEC 17021, ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO/IEC 17065 Standards.
  • Evaluation of metrological traceability capabilities and access to proficiency testing programs in Azerbaijan from the point of view of laboratory accreditation and recommending needed measures.
  • Identification of conformance of national regulatory framework to requirements of ISO/IEC 17011, (EC) 765/2008 and ILAC, IAF and EA rules,
  • Developing the management system of AzAK in line with the requirements of the ISO/IEC 17011:2017 and recommending an institutional infrastructure satisfying the present international requirements.
  • Improving communication with the national stakeholders and international collaboration capacity of AzAK with the EA, ILAC and IAF networks.
