TÜRKAK Secretary General Banu Müderrisoğlu attended the 20th Ordinary General Assembly of the Vocational Qualifications Authority (VQA). In his opening speech, Minister of Labour and Social Security Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan emphasized that the VQA plays a critical role in defining and certifying vocational qualifications across the country, thereby contributing to the development of the labour market. Minister Işıkhan stated that 3.1 million citizens have received vocational qualification certificates through 260 authorized certification bodies nationwide, with 327,000 people certified in the past year alone.
VQA President Aşkın Tören remarked, “In the upcoming period, the VQA will evolve into a second-generation, hybrid qualification authority that will serve as a guiding force from learning to production and from production to competitiveness.”
The meeting provided a productive platform for consultation among public institutions, professional organizations, and sector representatives. At the conclusion of the Assembly, Minister Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan presented a plaque of appreciation to TÜRKAK Secretary General Banu Müderrisoğlu in recognition of TÜRKAK’s valuable contributions to the ongoing cooperation with the VQA.
Through their long-standing collaboration, TÜRKAK and the VQA -two key components of Turkey’s national quality infrastructure-work closely to ensure the reliability, transparency, and international recognition of the vocational qualification system.
TÜRKAK accredits certification bodies operating within the vocational qualification system in accordance with the TS EN ISO/IEC 17024 “Conformity Assessment – General Requirements for Bodies Operating Certification of Persons” standard, thereby ensuring that these organizations recognized by the VQA operate impartially, reliably, and in line with international standards.
