Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Faruk Kaymakcı: Accreditation is an important tool in achieving our Sustainable Development Goals
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Faruk Kaymakcı celebrated the 9 June World Accreditation Day.
Pointing out that the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are a global call to action, including our country, to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people live in peace and prosperity by 2030, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kaymakcı said that accreditation is based on the principle of sustainability pointed out that its product sets examples of good practice with internationally harmonized standards and schemes and strongly supports this global call to action.
Kaymakcı: “TÜRKAK is the sole national accreditation body in our country.”
While providing information about the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK) which is affiliated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kaymakcı said, “TÜRKAK, as the sole authorized national accreditation body of our country, provides services to more than 2000 conformity assessment bodies, the number of which is increasing day by day, in all fields subject to international multilateral agreements. In this context, TÜRKAK fulfills its duty in the most successful way.” used the phrases.
A healthier world with accreditation
Remarking that TÜRKAK contributes to the achievement of 17 global goals in almost every field, from global warming to drought, from reducing the ecological footprint to a greener industry, from efficient use of resources to confirming that the minimum safety criteria of the products are met, and in particular the ultimate goals of the studies in the field of quality, industry, innovation and strengthening of infrastructure, Kaymakcı stated that the accredited testing, measurement, inspection, reporting and validation studies through the activities of TURKAK constitute the basis for scientific decisions; he emphasized that these activities provide a basis for the execution of policies befitting our people and our planet.
On the occasion of the World Accreditation Day, Kaymakcı gave the message: “We need the partnership of the public, private sector, civil society and all our citizens in order to achieve the Global Goals in order to achieve sustainable development and leave a better country for our future generations. In this context, we reaffirm our commitment to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, and support the implementation of the ’Accreditation: Supporting the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals’ and we congratulate accredited conformity assessment bodies, assessors and technical experts, and all national and international stakeholders who are contributing to it for 9 June World Accreditation Day. ”
