Cooperation between TÜRKAK and UKAS will Strengthen Türkiye-UK Trade

United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) visited TÜRKAK to develop a strategic cooperation and partnership. During the visit in Ankara, UKAS Chief Executive Matt Gentley and Quality and Risk Manager Rob Bettinson were hosted by the TÜRKAK delegation led by Secretary General Banu Müderrisoğlu.

During this important visit, TÜRKAK and UKAS signed a memorandum of understanding with the emphasis on mutual understanding and support for in-depth cooperation in the fields of international accreditation and conformity assessment and strengthening commercial relations between the two countries. Within the scope of the agreement, with regular annual meetings, both accreditation bodies will collaborate on issues such as joint work in new accreditation areas, digitalization of accreditation processes and supporting Türkiye-UK trade through accreditation and conformity assessment activities.

Türkiye and the United Kingdom are in an important position in terms of mutual trade volume. The trade volume between the two countries reached 24 billion dollars in 2023. The cooperation between TÜRKAK and UKAS is an important step to further strengthen Türkiye-UK trade. With the signed memorandum of understanding, it is expected to achieve goals such as increasing the trade volume between the two countries, ensuring consumer and user safety and increasing quality.
