Inspection Accreditation Department

Inspection Accreditation Department carries out the conformity assessment and accreditation activities of the inspection bodies in accordance with the requirements defined in International Accreditation Forum (IAF), International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and TURKAK guidance documents in addition to TS EN ISO / IEC 17020 "Requirements for the Operation of Various Types of Bodies performing Inspection".

It should be underlined that TÜRKAK is the only authorized institution to accredit the conformity assessment activities in Türkiye as it is stated in the Law No. 4457. Calibration, Testing, Medical Testing, Certification, Inspection, Verification, Proficiency Testing, Reference Material Production, Sampling and Other Conformity Assessment Activities which fall into the responsibility of TURKAK cannot be directly accredited or otherwise indirect declaration regarding accreditation cannot be given by other legal entities or person.

The TS EN ISO/IEC 17020 Standard, which falls into the task area of Inspection Accreditation Department, set out the technical and management system requirements for inspection bodies. Inspection bodies accredited according to this standard is assessed periodically by TÜRKAK and decisions regarding the accreditation status are given based on the assessment results.

Inspection Accreditation Department conducts its activities in accordance with the guide R50.01 which details the requirements regarding the accreditation of inspection bodies in addition to the P701 Procedure which explains how to make accreditation applications in general and how these applications and assessment processes will be handled by TURKAK. In addition, sector-specific guides are published from time to time and they clarify accreditation processes on these issues.

Our Department fulfills its duties and responsibilities, which it considers as preventive medicine, with its competent assessors and technical experts who have an understanding of the work done as sacred and the importance of the decisions they give.
