Implementation of the TÜRKAK Certificate Verification System (TBDS) for Calibration Laboratories

TÜRKAK Certificate Verification System (TBDS) will be implemented to ensure the accuracy of certificates issued by accredited organizations in the field of calibration, promote fair competition among accredited calibration laboratories, and enable the use of data obtained for risk assessment during audits.

System Requirements for Accredited Calibration Laboratories

Under this system, specific data from certificates issued by accredited calibration laboratories must be recorded in the TBDS. Additionally, a verification QR code and document verification code generated by the system must be added to the certificates in compliance with the specified conditions.

System Access and Data Entry

Access to the TBDS can be obtained through the Asist Portal using existing usernames and passwords. The system offers two options for data entry:

  • Manual Data Entry:
Designed for organizations with low-volume activities or those preparing calibration certificates without using software.
Users opting for this method can refer to the attached TBDS screen guide.

  • Web Service Integration:
Recommended for organizations producing a higher number of certificates.
This option has been developed to streamline laboratory processes.
Relevant users can review the attached web service guide for further details.

R20.18 Guide and Application Requirements

The requirements for adding the verification QR code to certificates, formatting certificates, and calibration labels can be found in the "R20.18 TÜRKAK Branded Test Reports and Calibration Certificates Guide."

Transition Period and Mandatory Implementation Date

  • Transition Period:
The deadline for accredited calibration laboratories to transition to the TBDS is set as March 31, 2025.
    During this period:

    • Necessary adjustments must be made to quality management systems to comply with the R20.18 guide.
    • Organizations opting for manual entry should complete their system preparations.
    • Organizations opting for web service integration must establish their infrastructure and complete testing processes.
  • Mandatory Implementation Date:
    As of April 1, 2025:

    • All calibration laboratories accredited by TÜRKAK must record the certificates issued within their accreditation scope in the TBDS and include the verification QR code on the certificates.
    • Failure to meet these requirements will result in laboratories being unable to issue certificates within their accreditation scope. The conditions applicable to the accreditation mark on certificates will also apply to the TBDS QR code.
